BARAAT: “groom” in English. In this traditional wedding procession, the groom is escorted to the site of the wedding. This event signifies the groom’s journey to unite with his bride and the bride’s family. Historically, the groom would travel miles from his residence to the bride’s. Expect a party; vibrant music and dancing as the group travels up the road to the wedding destination (approx. 400 m)
